Topic: Alimentation hp-65 / adapter for HP-65

Bonjour Monsieur Laporte,

Cordialement,
Olivier

For people who do not read French:
I just bought a 65-hp (35 years of waiting, hence my nickname;-).
Before connecting (it was sold to me to be in working order, which I have no reason to doubt), I checked the output voltages of the HP82010A provided.
These are 5.37 and 15.50 volts vacuum, which I think is well above the nominal values ??(4.2 and 4).
Can you check if you have this type of adapter you get these values ??to empty?
I fear that the former owner provided me a new adapter (aspect and bending of the wire), but failed (without knowing).
Thanking you again for your site just as exciting, and wishing you a happy new year 2012.
Sincerely,

Hi Olivier,

I could check out roughly the same values on two Classics adapters (82002A).

There are 2 different circuits
- a voltage regulator to feed the calc,
- a constant current source to charge the nicads.
(See on the site the discussion and here
http://jacques-laporte.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=82
on this forum).

1) Voltage regulator

I measure 4.15 loaded and 5.85 unloaded.

2) Constant current source

Unloaded voltage = 16v
Loaded = 4.15
Current 50.9 ma

Seems your data : 4.2 and 4V  are quite nominal.
I hope all this will help.

Is the HP65 working on batteries?
Thanx for the best wishes.

Bonne année 2012!
