Hi all,
Free42 version 1.4, featuring decimal floating point, is coming along quite nicely, and I could probably release it this week.
The change from binary to decimal is pretty tricky, though, and there could easily be subtle bugs lurking in there. The current development version does seem to run my two major compatibility test cases correctly (Erik Ehrling's PRM? program, and the "1110 digits of pi" program for the HP-41 that was published in the PPC journal many years ago), so I have some confidence.
If there's anyone who has legacy 42S code that did not work well on the pre-1.4 Free42, and who is interested in running some tests to verify the new version's compatibility, I'd love to hear from you and I'll send you the latest Windows build. I can be contacted through the MoHPC mail feature.
Thanks!
