Hi Phil, Philippe!! ;-) Thanks for your kind words and your interest in my projects. I've received your mail (thanks), but rather prefer answering your questions thru this forum, as others may also be interested. According to your mail, you can produce the PCB and get the required components to build a Clonix yourself... That's great, so far only a couple of people have already done so (properly)... please do not hesitate in consulting me with any questions you may have. As for the hardware issues (shells and connectors), I'm affraid I'm not of much help, I get these buying Memory Modules (82106A) mostly at eBay or (occasionally) receiving an unused Module directly from the customer... and this is by far the most difficult part of the Clonix project, as some modules fail to open cleanly thus becoming useless, and some connectors break while twisting the solder wires to match Clonix PCB requirements... as for the technical aspects, the Clonix module is fairly simple to build, provided you have a steady hand, appropriate tools and good SMD soldering experience... these are the main reasons why I don't sell DIY kits. However, you more likely fulfill these requirements according to your webpage... :-)) Furthermore, the new PCB layout requires the PIC microcontroller chip to be physically cutted and such an "operation" is not recommended to the faint hearted!! :-) In abstract: it's an easy job but not a begginer's job. Please let us know of your progress if you finally decided to give a go to this project. A tech note, the limitting resistor in the V+ line is 100 Ohms instead 47 Ohms (as shown in the preliminary schematic). Good luck and best wishes. Diego.
