Hello,
this is normal, as long as the keys work.
Not every unit has 'rattling' keys,
it's a production issue.
However, unlike most of the newer HPs (except HP-41),
the voyagers have at least separate keys;-)

As Raymond says, it's aproduction issue. I have an American 15C from 1983 and a Singpore 12C from 1993 that rattle. I also have an American 11C from 1986 and 16C from 1985 that don't rattle.

I know it's a different breed of cat, but turn a 67 upside down and shake and you can do the samba.

Key rattle in the old units is okay because the keyboard is not a membrane, the key 'snaps' are attached to the board. The keys rattle if enough of the plastic welds inside pop, causing the board to come away from the front chassis. I cut all of the welds in my 12c to clean inside the keyboard, so now all my keys rattle. I like the individual keys because it allows one to replace scratched or worn keys with ones from a 'parts' body.
