Most of the current discussion is about design specifications. Remember, the whole concept was spawned from discussion. Next came a forum (out of respect for not clogging things up here), and then the first incarnation of our web page. We implimented a basic wiki for documentation needs and later added a CVS.
With all of that said. The first few months helped us (the management) figure out what tools the community would need to really start development work. Most of the tools are now in place (we're really only waiting on the new wiki).
At this point concise formal definitions are our top priority. The *fix command reference should be nearing completion by the end of this year. A hardware definition should be ready long before that, and I would like to have prototype mainboards in that same timeframe.
So to answer your question: For an open development project things are coming along very nicely. To most people I'm sure it looks slow... But that's the nature of the beast to some extent (volunteer labor).
