Hi Raymond!
Raymond: as Bill states, always turn off the calc *before* plugging/unplugging modules.
GENE: Yep, had been doing that. Wasn't clear before. I've had a 41C since 1980, so I knew to do that.
Raymond: Now you could try a calc reset (ENTER+ON).
GENE: Did that, and I think it may require leaving the batteries OUT overnight. Still turns off quickly. Might be that the batteries got drained (they are rechargeables) right when the module was put in...who knows...static discharge is a pain.
Raymond: As always, and especially for such a complex piece of hardware and software, RTFM FIRST;-)
GENE: My beef wasn't with the HePAX manual which I have read from the other site, but with the instructions on what to do with a just-out-of-the-envelope NoVRAM module. Is it different than the Clonix module? Do you follow the steps in the Clonix manual? If not, what steps are different? Again, I just figured that there must be differences in the INITIAL operating/setup instructions for the NoVRAM module compared to a vanilla Clonix.
And, there is no "manual" as yet specifically for the NoVRAM module - only the Clonix. Makes it tough to read. :-)
