New HP32SII

Post: #5

Today I saw one of the "newer" HP 32SII at my local store. I saw it from a very close distance, but I didn't have it in my hands. It's only a restyling: green and blue shift keys like the 48G series and the faceplate around the screen in silver (unpainted).

I don't have an older 32SII, but I do have a 42S, that uses a very similar case.

My concern it's that seemed to have a more crude finishing. Keys are made from plastic, but the graphics in them looked a little bit blurry. They key itself seemed not so well finished. May be the symbols are painted on the keys, not moulded?

I know I can look very subjective, but taking in consideration the drop in manufacturing quality that HP has experimented in the last years.

Anyone has other opinions?

Best Regards

Ignacio

Is the calculator shell brown as in the original 32SII? Or does the entire calculator have the HP48 styling?

I hope to get a close look myself of this new style 32SII so I can see the differences with an original 32SII (I have one).

I have also got a 20S lying around and the keys on that one are different from the 32SII, they have a to me cheap glossy look to them. I hope HP didn't "go cheap" on the new 32SII.

The calculator shell is dark grey as on the 48G, with the protruding part around the screen polished and unpainted. It definitely looks "cheaper". I don't have any photo. I expect HP will soon provide one as with the new HP10BII (beautiful)

Can you post a picture of this "new" calculator?
