gold f and blue g

#4

Didn't see this in the FAQ's, what does the f on the gold key and the g on the blue key mean?

As I understand it, the 'f' stands for "function", since the 'f' key makes the next key you press execute one of its alternate functions. The blue 'g' (and black 'h' on the HP-67) also make the next key execute an alternate function, and are just the next two letters in the alphabet.

Yes, it has happened that some calculators even got a "h" function key !
