I allready saw this increasment on the Curtas, but now on HP-01? Let´s have a look on my HP-10A, HP-70A, HP9100B in some month.... cool

That is about the normal price for a truly new condition gold HP-01 in the box with all the goodies. I have seen them go for $4000.

It looks like the Curtas are cooling off now. It is strange that they sell for so much (over $500). It seems that one sells every day on Ebay. An HP65 may come up once every couple of weeks and sells for around $200.

The January 2004 issue of Scientific American had a very good article about the Curta and its history. There might be an excerpt of the article on SciAm's website.

Given the quality of the Curta, I'm not surprised that collectors were paying $500. They might be even rarer than most pre-41C HP models.

Well, it's down to $350 buy-it-now. Probably not too bad a price if it is truly NIB.

The Scientific American article would explain the recent (hopefully brief) Curta price spike. Everybody should have one of these little jewels in their goody box... but $3500 is utterly riduculous... even with the box.
