The "HP 97S Test Connector" is a male plug that plugs into the I/O connector on the interface pod of the HP 97S for the purpose of testing the interface pod and calcualtor. The test connector uses a standard Amphenol metal shell and 50 pin Amphenol male plug and has a rubber plug where the cable would normally exit the shell. Inside there is a small circuit board with one IC. The part number on the IC is 5061-3036 and the part number on the IC is 1820-1484.
I have posted pictures of the assembled test connector and the disassembled components at "http://www.intellistar.net/~rigdonj/test-conn.jpg" and "http://www.intellistar.net/~rigdonj/test-conn2.jpg".
BTW my 97s with the original test connector will be for sale on E-bay as soon as I have time to list it.
