HP Parts.com "fraudulent"

#2

Just wanted to caution all buyers to boycott HPParts.com. I ordered a battery. They took the money and never sent the battery. They refuse to send the battery and return my $102.50 and think the bank should re-reimburse me. These criminals should be run out of business!

I can't find Hpparts.com. Discontinued?

The whois data indicates HP has owned the domain name for a while, but I wouldn't trust the dates to be correct. Nevertheless, it seems HP does own that domain. And before you check, hpparts.net is a poker site run by a guy in California as a 'buisness'.

Don't forget that when you register a site you can type in anything you like into the registration fields, including the address of one of HP's offices. The email address need only work until the domain has been registered and then you can change it from scum@hotmail.com to something_official_sounding@hp.com

Once this is done, the domain looks genuine but can be used for anything.

good point! I shouldn't have been so easily duped since I happen to run an office network.
Eventually HP will find out about this I hope.
