Thermal paper

Post: #4

Probably no surprise to others, but I was pleased to pick up a package of 9 rolls of thermal paper ("for gas pump receipt and credit/debit card printers") at Staples today for $9.95. Works just fine in the 82240A and I'm sure the other similar printers as well.

Specs are 2-1/4" x 85' or 57mm x 26m.

That's a lot better than ebay!

John, I've used this paper also and agree it works great and is cheaper than trying to buy original paper.

But - I've been real lucky this year on finding boxes of original HP paper at local ham fests (Amateur Radio Flea Markets). I've picked up about ten full boxes (both older and newer styles) for $1 each. The last ham fest is this weekend, so I'll see if my luck still holds.

Another place to watch is the clearance bins/tables at Staples/OfficeMax/OfficeDepot/etc. They all seem to have one or more pre-opened packages, presumably wrong-sized rolls returned for exchange. They're usually Saran-wrapped and ~half-priced.
