I tried to find out what the reason could be for the keyboard problems with the new HP-49G+. First of all the keyforce is too high. Secondly sometimes keypresses are not recognised. Look at the HP-41 ENTER key at the bottom of my homepage: http://members.fortunecity.de/aerobat/index.html
The red dot shows the point where force is applied to the new keyboard whereas the nicely molded 41-key had it in the middle. So clearly the force must roughly double. I could imagine that changing to the original design would bring back the nice keyclick we all wanted. But this would require changing the key molds as well as the PCB layout which is a mayor cost factor. What do you think?
