Ernie, please read.

Hi, Ernie are you well?

Remember that a few days ago I tried to send you an e-mail? I asked you for another e-address and you asked me to retry. I did and received this message today:

The original message was received at Sat, 19 Jul 2003 17:02:54 -0300
from []

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----

----- Transcript of session follows -----
451 <>... Name server timeout
Message could not be delivered for 5 days
Message will be deleted from queue

I wonder what's going on. Have you been able to access this e-account?

I want to know if you do not have any other e-address so I can send it again.

If you feel doing this, please let me know by sending me an e-mail.

Hi Luiz,

I'm able to connect to the mail server at from here. Where did that error message come from? It looks like it could be a DNS problem at your ISP.

Hi, Dave;

thank you for your willing to help.

The rest of the message report is like this.

Reporting-MTA: dns;
Arrival-Date: Sat, 19 Jul 2003 17:02:54 -0300

Final-Recipient: RFC822;
Action: failed
Status: 4.4.7
Last-Attempt-Date: Thu, 24 Jul 2003 17:36:13 -0300

When I ask for this message's properties (outlook), I get this:.

I am not sure about this, but it seems your concerns proceed. What do you think? I do not know much about this properties' contents, but the

Return-Path: <MAILER-DAEMON>

called my attention.

Thank you again for your help.

That does look to me like it's a problem at (or their upstream DNS). I would send a message to their support address and see what they say.

I just sent you a test email; we'll see if you received it. In case you don't, my theory is that the Internet still has quite a few wrinkles to be ironed out. For example, once in a while I come across an interesting link on a web page, click on it, only to be told that the server isn't found. The funny thing is that if I try again two hours later (or two days later) there is no problem. This sort of situation arises when attempting to access web sites in Europe or Asia (not all -- not even most of them, but enough to draw some form of generalization).

Good luck.

The email I sent you was rejected. There's a serious problem somewhere.

Hi, Ernie;

as I did not receive it at the moment you told you sent it, I presumed that, too.

It seems taht somewhere our providers have no link to close the chain. Weird...

Well, I'l send a message to the local webmaster, but I am almost sure he will not be able to start doing something... But I'll try it anyway.

Best regards, Ernie. And thank you.
