Hello, Luc;
I read here that former Voyagers CPU was based on the HP41 CPU, known as nut. This is the explanation for Coconut as HP41 project name, and the later references as fullnut (earlier models) and halfnuts (later ones).
There are at least four major HP12C's "nuts", being three of them from previous 3-cell (4.5Vcc) units provided by HP and the later one, from Agilent, exclusively for the one-cell (3.3Vcc) newer version. I have their ID codes, if you wnat a list of them.
The HP12C Platinum has a bubble-type CPU without any identification at all. I call it a peanut, but someone here told me a peanut is not a nut, even being called peanut, and this is enough for me to rename it. So now I call nonut the HP12C Platinum processor! d;)
Sorry, but I could not resist...
Hope this helps... except for the peanut/nonut "joke".
