Woodstock Slide Switchs

Post: #3

I've been reading posts about lubricating Woodstock slide switchs with "Tri Flow". I have a 25C that is working fine, but I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to oil them. Can this be done without taking it apart?

trent,
the lubricant deposit in and around the switches is normally sufficient for a lifetime. the switches must not be 'oiled', but 'greased'. mineral oils may 'brittle'or deteriorate the plastics over time. teflon grease especially made for plastic parts worked fine for my -67.
it is always a good idea to remove the residues of old lubricants completely before applying new lubricants, just in order to prevent mixing (with unpredictable long time results) of different blends.

cheers, hans
