HP and Scholastic Launch 2003 Create-A-Calculator Contest
Contest Encourages Teachers and Students to Invent a Calculator and Win Scholarship Prizes
PALO ALTO, Calif., March 24, 2003 -- HP (NYSE:HPQ) and Scholastic Professional Magazines, a division of the global children's publishing and media company, today announced the launch of their first Create-A-Calculator contest, a nationwide effort to get students and teachers in grades K-12 involved in creating the next version of an HP calculator.
HP, the company that invented the first handheld scientific calculator, is offering teachers and students in the United States the chance to win scholarship money and prizes worth more than $10,000.(1) Deadline for entries is May 15, 2003.
