interesting calculator article

I went looking for the Bob Pease article about Spice (the simulator program) but I can't find it, however I did find this one about calculator accuracy:

It's from 1992 and it's not actually written by Pease but it is just serious enough to make you wonder if the author is pulling your leg.

It's good to know that Pease is still writing his articles. Here is an index to them:

I found another, smaller index of his articles at National Semi. It has the advantage of being easier to read!:

The article on "Muntzing" is very interesting on the subject of low-cost manufacturing. This article about "mentoring", I think anyone would enjoy reading:,1562,7,00.html

Pease is an analog IC expert from National Semiconductor but his articles cover a wide range of subjects. He wrote a good book on analog troubleshooting and contributed a great article on the first successful transistor operational amplifier to another book by Jim Williams of Linear Technology. Pease worked at Philbrick while they were still building the op-amp modules and he includes a hand drawn schematic in his article where he explains why nobody was successful at cloning the module (its operation depended on parasitic feedback). One day I would like to build an op-amp from his article.

the first article, for sure, is a well-known april fool.

Yes, its a hoax, it says so at the end of the article.
