Hope I didn't just mess up

#10

I just bought an HP41CV on EbaY.

The thing that bothers me is that the key pad is light colored and I don't remember ever seeing one that color. Any thoughts.

I think you're OK...that looks like it's a keyboard overlay. Pretty common.

Thanks. I hadn't thought of an overlay. I was afraid that the old "act in haste and repent at leisure" was going to apply.

the cx came with an overlay just like that.

The seller spray-painted the keyboard a lighter
color so that those tire tracks from being run over didn't show.

LOL

Oh good. I was afraid it was something bad. I hope they did it with water colors so it will come off when I put my new 41CV into the dishwasher.

Hmmmm... I wouldn't put it in the dishwasher if I were you, those 6-views cardboard models don't take it too well.

#17

Double Hmmmmm...... You may be right. However, you're thought opens the possibilit that I could clean it up with crayons and magic markers. ;-}

That's a keyboard overlay, for sure. A good sign; it will have protected the keyboard underneath from dust and perhaps ultraviolet-induced fading.

Best,
