...although the 41cx is currently out of stock there, Raymond, this machine does not worth that amount of money (IMO). Raul ▼

Hi Raul, it depends: If it were the only NOS 41CX, things would be different. But AFAIK this (and maybe other) stocks consisted of hundreds of NOS units, which may relativate it. However, back then in the early eighties when I bought my first NIB 41CX (fullnut) I think I paid a similar price. Regards, Raymond ▼

Both the C and CV were introduced at $350. I don't think that the CX was ever sold new for $500. ▼

Carly is right, at $510 a calculator, there is no money to be made in this business. Everybody should use personal PC's instead, so that HP does not have to build stuff like that.

When it was introduced, the HP-41CV was sold for about 900 DM here in Germany, which is approx. 450 Euros.
At that time, I bought my first 41C with Quad mem module for exactly 735 DM, which is approx. 367 Euros, and it was a discount price then. I don't recall the exact price for the CX, because I made a trade-in for my C with some accessories, but it was comparable to the CV when it as new. Raymond

Just to make a clarification. Neither I nor my company Classic Calculators has EVER sold any HP 41CX units on E Bay. The seller of this unit is NOT me and is NOT associated with Classic Calculators. There are apparently quite a few different people with access to this batch of unused old stock calculators. Classic Calculators has only ever sold these units from our web site at a fixed price (Aprox $399 inc worldwide shipping) and with a 30 day money back guarantee. We are currently out of stock having sold a significant number although I kept a few units back for any possible service or support problems our customers might have. I have had a few people come to me after buying from other sellers on e bay asking for support or service but I have had to explain that we are NOT associated with anyone selling these units on EBAY and thus cant provide free support on their purchases! Our success in selling these units has been communicated to HP (We are an official HP calculator dealer in the UK)with the suggestion that there IS obviously a market for this sort of high quality product at a premium price! Perhaps we should start collecting signatures to support your suggestion...
