I have a 9872a plotter with a HP-IB and a 9815a port is it possible to connect the plotter to a PC parallel port via the 9815a port,if it is possible what is the pinout confuration of the 9815a port on the plotter.

Greetings Henk Butter Edam Holland

The 9872A is only HP-IB. HP never sold a parallel plotter that I can remember. It seems to me, I remember companies like Black Box sold an HP-IB/parallel converter box years ago. I believe the parallel port for the 9815a is 16 bit while HP-IB(IEEE-488) is not.

You might check with Black Box and see if they offer a converter.
