HP Prime finally updated!

Post: #2

Finally Monday is here and I got a chance to call HP Tech Support. The agent sent me a file via email that successfully restored my unit to factory condition. After hanging up I tried to upgrade the Prime 2 more times, unsuccessfully. I downloaded all the files to my wife's newer (by 2 years) Win8 machine, and the calculator gobbled up the firmware! Now I am happy again, and no longer want to throw this pretty remarkable machine against the wall! LOL.

Thanks so much. I have had fun exploring the Prime for the last several hours.

Hello,

Could you PM me your computer details info (cpu, chipset, USB port...)?

I am trying to figure out why it does not want to upgrade on some machines...

thanks, cyrille

Glad to hear this. I guess it was just dumb luck that my update went smoothly on my computer (Acer Aspire with Win 7 Home Premium). Still, all this angst could have been avoided for so many folks if hp just provided SD card support for the Prime. Hint, hint.

I agree! I am sure HP is listening and following. How could you leave the SD Card slot out? PLEASE put it in the next incarnation of your beautiful calculators!
