HP67 problem

#4

I found a HP67 in perfect cosmetic condition. It looks brand new. The problem is that when I turn it on after charging the batteries for a while, all I get are two 0's in random positions, different each time I turn it on. The calculator does not respond to key presses and does not do anything when I put a card into the card reader.

Has anybody seen this ? Does this sound like a loose connection?

Thanks.

It could be a bad connection but FAR more likely is a bad chip inside the unit ;(

Alas it's more likely to be a dead ACT (CPU) or ROM0 (which includes the display driver) chip on the logic board. Both chips are custom and unavailable other than from old HP calculators.
The ACT can come from an HP21, 22, 25, 29, 67 or 97 (and possibly a 91 or 92 as well), the ROM0 has to come from a 67.
