Hi everyone, I have a simple question concerning the wp 34s overlay. I want tprint them out by myself, cut out the keys and stick it on the calculator but realized that there are informations on the actual keys...
How do you solve this issue with a bought overlay ?
Is there a separate little overlay for each key that you have to apply one by one?

Also , a programming question. Although a bit technical, I don't have access to lab material this weekend and am wondering what is the voltage used by the microcontroller for its serial communications. Is it 3.3v or 5v ?

I don't know the answer to your second question though the supply voltage is 3V, so I'd guess ...

On Eric's overlays, there are two parallel cuts, about 1mm or less apart, around each key. At each key position, this gives a narrow ring of material which is discarded, leaving a key-top sticker for each key that is a little smaller than the aperture in the main sheet.

Thank you very mich for you answers. i guess I will print a temporary one because if i cut each button manually it will be awful .... And order one in the meanwhile :P

Concerning the programming, yes it probably is 3,3v I will give it a try... The worst than can happen when trying to program with 3.3 when the device require 5v is failure in programmation .

3.3V is OK.

My very first overlay contained all the legends around the keys. I had the original markings blanked out with a pen. You can still find the graphics in the artwork directory on SF:

That is a very interesting concept. I like the idea of not having key labels to come unstuck and wear off.
