WP-34s Documentation error

Post: #11

A minor error that I just noticed: In the IOP,it says that LINEQS is in the X.FCN catalog instead of the Matrix catalog.

I do have the printed documentation, but I often use the PDF so that I can search. Where is the official location of the latest PDF file? I get the source tree using SVN, but it does not seem to have the latest PDF file in it.

Thanks,

Marcel

Marcel,

Thanks for reporting your observations. The LINEQS error is known already and will be corrected in a second edition when the first is sold out. I think this also anwers your second observation, doesn't it?

It would still be nice to have the PDF of the printed version available. We've an open source with closed documentation project of some sort.

I've been thinking that but afraid to post it.

On the old Sourceforge SVN (before they changed to the new format a few months ago) we already had a newer version of the manual (Manual_wp_34s_3_2.pdf) with about 10MB size, and this one was almost the same as the printed version.

But after this Sourceforge change suddenly the manual was falling back to 3.1 with about 8.5MB, and this one is of course quite outdated.

I wonder why noone of the WP34s team has ever replaced this old manual with the newer one (3.2) on the current Sourceforge site!?

Hmmm? What has this to do with my posting?

I interpreted Walter's comments to mean that the PDF will be updated when the next edition of the printed manual is released.

Given the current state of affairs, I am assuming that his intent is to keep the online PDF one version behind the printed edition.... That's just my guess though. Walter?

Yes, that's what I believe, too!

I don't think that the 3.2 version of the manual has been removed accidently when Sourceforge switched to their new system, because in this case he could simply have re-uploaded the newer version again. I rather believe that Walter has removed it to promote his printed manual.

Anyway, if wanted I could upload the latest manual (3.2) anywhere, because I still have it of course ...

Hello,

I had the same question: is it only the hard copy of the manual that will be updated from now on? Could we expect an update on the pdf version on the SourceForge site?

Thanks and regards,

Miguel.
