HP 75d: pale lcd characters

#2

My HP 75d is in an overall good condition, but the dsplay is very faint, easily readable only from a flat angle. Obviously there are no keystroke combinations to adjust contrast and/or brightness with an HP 75. In comparison my HP 75c looks much brighter.
Is there a chance to improve this? If yes, is there anybody out there who could accomplish that, preferably a person or company in Europe?
I would be grateful for any hint.
