[WP 34S] Printed manual available

Post: #2

After many turns of proofreading, editing, adding, and reconverting I think it's worth publishing now - 244 pages full colour, documenting build 3366. Please look here. As announced earlier, it shall be one price worldwide (I set it up this way but since I can't test that please tell me your experience).

P.S.: Sorry I overtook you, Geoff ;-)

P.P.S.: Seems one price worldwide is unrealistic with supplies from the USA. But since I promised, I added an offer
below. Please consider it.

I'm being asked for postage. It isn't clear what your one price worldwide means.

I had feared something like that :-( Just crosschecked and found the expedited postage to Europe is really less than to an address in the USA :-? Well, I don't have to understand that nor feel responsible for the nationwide price policy of USPS. I can offer, however, to save postage for those folks living outside of NAFTA and Europe. That would require you place your orders at me - I will collect them and order a larger package at Createspace and redistribute the manuals from here. I'll do that since I promised (in a way) equal prices worldwide if viable.

Advantage for you: it will cost you just 7.99 US$ to get the book (some 0.75kg) by air mail to you wherever you live - so you pay 34 + 7.99 = 41.99 US$ to my Paypal account and this will include the full shipping to you. This is the lowest shipping rate I see covering a reasonable speed of delivery - so I took this as the base.

Disadvantage: Shipping will be a bit slower than directly to you since there will be the collect time plus two laps - one to me and one to you.

I plan to hold this offer for one week until I order at Createspace. A possible second order will then depend on the rate of orders I receive thereafter.

If you are interested in that offer please inform me. I'll take your information as a binding order.

FYI, said offer will run out tomorrow (3.3.13) at 12:00 UTC. I'll order three copies so far, so there's space for some more if anyone is interested.

Order just placed. Now I think my wp34s deserves a new overlay set and a firmware upgrade. :-)

I just ordered one. Many thanks for your great efforts, Walter. I am really looking forward to perusing this printed edition.

I ordered a copy in advance (to check the real thing - modified a bit thereafter ;-) ) and found I had to pay only the book plus shipping although the book ran all the way through our customs. This is just one case, of course ...

Ordered. Thank you!

Post: #16

Ordered. Thank you so much for doing this. One wonders if something similar could be done for the "Beginner's Guide" as well -- thus a quick start user's guide and an advanced user's manual making a nice desktop reference set.

Post: #17

Just arrived - looks fantastic! I'm getting ready to order a second one as a gift.

One question: when will the documented version (3.2) be released?

Cheers,
Bob

Post: #18

I'll prepare a new release shortly. Until then you will have to resort to the SVN repository.

Post: #19

Thank you! I'll bet you have the new release posted faster than I figure out SVN :-)

Regards,
Bob

You are welcome. :-)

Marcus, in your last (todays) update of the WP34s files there's still the very old manual (rev.3.1) included (in both the ZIP files and in the repository).

It seems that since SourceForge has changed their sites to the new style, nothing is working correctly anymore. :-(

Not Marcus' fault. The v3.2 manual's simply not there.

I won't say "nothing" but there are challenges not experienced before. We're working on it. Meanwhile, please try to live with a printed copy.
