97S

My 97S has the serial number 1830A08281 and according to the serial numbers section of the museum, the A means it is made in America but stamped into the case right next to the serial number is "MADE IN SINGAPORE" Any ideas?

Is it possible that the case was injection-molded in Singapore, but the machine was finally assembled in America?

Or maybe vice versa?

Remembnr the 97S is a normal HP97 with the I/O module wired into it. I guess it's possible that the 97 was made in Singapore and that the I/O module was added inthe States.
