I think I can help.
Is it always a lower-cas "h" what you have to locate? If so, you could simply use POS with your string in both levels 2 and 3 (I'll explain latter) and an "h" in level 1. After POS is executed, you'll have the string in level 2 (the "extra" copy teft in level 3, right?) and the position of the "h" in level 1; now you place a "." in level 1 and execute REPL.
If you're sure your character to be replaced is always in the same positon, use REPL with this scheme:
"string to be changed"If this procedure fits your needs, REPL will be the solution. If a general postional changing may happen, a simple program will be better (if you need help, let us know). Anyway, look for POS, REPL, CHR, NUM and SUB.
