You can get polishing compound in small quantities for buffing out scratches in LCD monitors. If the toothpaste trick isn't satisfactory, try that.

I highly recommend Novus plastic polish for this. Their #2 polish will get out light to moderate surface scratches. Their #1 is an excellent plastic cleaner -- it makes plastic look new. Their #3 is for deep scratches, be careful using this on the lens as it can really eat into it.

It's cheap and readily available on amazon, ebay and many other on-line stores.

Congratulations from me as well! Rare find! Must be a strange feeling being the proud parent of your granma :-) though by modern medical methods many mixtures may be possible. "She" is the one missing in my line of Classics, but since she isn't my granma I won't hunt her ;-)

thank-you very much, thanks to all for congratulations, actually I'm very happy (like a children) and proud for this new entry, It's complete of its original case and tools and works really great. For Eddie's question, the battery is not the original but repacked.

I had one of these calculators (although it wasn't as nice as yours).

I thought the lime green and orange color scheme is/was HIDEOUS.

So at the 2006 HHC conference in San Jose, I donated my HP-70 as a raffle prize. Richard Nelson won it. He seemed to think I was crazy to do this and kept asking if I really wanted to. YES RICHARD I DO!

Yes, I gave away one of the rarest and most valuable HP Classic calculators for NOTHING. But at least I don't have to look at it any more.
