HP97 sold on ebay 3 times?

#9

Are these three Ebay auctions offering the same HP97? All three are from the same seller and have this statement or similar: "There are some markings with pen near the print head and on the back of the case."

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1363967055 sold July 8.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1365757810 sold July 16.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1368583509 ends July 29.

The second and third have identical looking photos and the third might be a re-list, maybe the second buyer decided not to.

Not to be picky, but that's one of the three!

OOPS!!

Reading glasses don't solve all of my reading problems at the computer ...

The buyer of the first HP-97 left positive feedback:

"Very nice to deal with, fast shipment and product fine condition highly recommend"

Perhaps in the second auction, the buyer didn't want to pay the $380.00. He has zero feedback.

If all three were originally owned by one company they would all be marked to indicate ownership in the same way.

They all look different to me - at least in the listings that are visible now (Friday evening, July 26).

The second and third pictures are clearly different - one shows the LEDs on and the other doesn't, and the amount of paper in the printer are different, and the accompanying materials are listed and show differently (one has a spare battery and some application PACs, the other apparently does not), and the first one listed has fewer associated items (and is the only one with the markings annotation).

As somebody else noted, maybe some outfit decided to get rid of a bunch of these.

The first one says: "There are some markings with pen near the print head and on the back of the case."

The second one says: "The calculator is in good cosmetic shape except for some transparent pen writing near the print head and on the bottom of calculator."

The third one says: "The calculator is in good cosmetic shape except for some almost transparent pen writing near the print head and on the bottom of calculator."

I agree the first auction has a different photo and it is offering fewer accessories. But I did a file compare on the first photo in each of the second and third auctions, and the files are identical. I'll allow for the possibility that the files having the same name might be causing some confusion in my browser due to caching, but I have hit "refresh" on both pages to try to eliminate that.

I'm not trying to cause trouble, I just think it is curious. I wouldn't be surprised if the third auction is a relist of the second, because the second buyer decided he wouldn't pay such a high price after all. I understand it happens.

There is some concern over the originality of each calculator that has been posted. To end the discussion any calculator sold by 'thisiswright@hotmail.com' is different from previous e-bay posts. I bought them from a surplus sale. Each one is in excellent condition and works great. Please feel free to bid on these calculators.

thanks
