Having had such great luck with my question about MEAN and SDEV, I will now ask about something much more complex (which I am guessing requires programming):

How can I get Sum of Squares and Mean of Sum of Squares on an HP 42S? The Notation for these are:

SS (Sum of Squares)

SSR/SSW (Rest/Within)

SST (Total)

MSS (Mean of Sum of Squares)

MSSA (Group A)

MSSB (Group B)

MSSR/MSSW (Rest/Within)

If I knew that my final on Monday would be muuuuuuuuuuch easier. :)

The statistics registers can be moved, but in a standard configuration (which I assume you have), are located in memories R11 to R16. There you will find sum of x, sum of x^2, sum of y, sum of y^2, sum of product xy, and number of pairs. All statistics like mean, sdev, etc. are calculated from these values. There are more options which you may enjoy knowing... after your exam! (Good luck!)

BTW, the issue regarding SDEV and Variance has to do with the difference between sample and population. The variance of a sample is larger than the variance of the population, by a factor of ( n /(n-1 )). Sdevs are the square root of variances in both cases. The calculator will give you the sample sdev, so you may need to correct for a population.

Please check all these hints before your exam, since I'm answering just from memory, and there may be small errors in what I recall.
