Origin of my HP-67

I'm a little bit confused about the origin of my HP-67.
It's serial number is 1609A00264 and it has the known
arc-sin-bugs.

The character 'A' in the middle obviously means that the
machine was made in america.
But the label on the back says 'Made in Singapore'.

How can this be? Does the label not belong to the calculator?
(The Card Reader is repaired, so it had been opened).

Can anyone tell something about it?

it's like nearly everywhere else these days;-)
Some parts were made here, some threre.

I'd assume that the back label was made in Singapore,
and the housing was put together in the U.S.

But since you said the unit had been opened,
maybe it's simply a replacement back label...
which could be from stock of HP, or a reprint (fake)
