HP 27 manual

The description of the HP27 Manual on this site states that it contains 230 pages. The original manual that came with my HP27 has only 216 pages. Serial No. 1611AO8597, printed January 1976 in the U.S.A. Either the Museum has made a minor error, or HP changed the format of the Manual in later years.
No big deal--just thought you might like to know.

I'm not sure this is the reason but when using the manual scans on the Museum CD's, there are usually more "PDF" pages than the nominal manual pages due to inclusion of the cover and the introduction pages before nominal page 1. I always "synchronize my watch" by going to any page in the body of the manual and noting the printed page number vs. the "PDF" page number. Then I calculate a correction factor to use when following index references.

I looked up the manual on the CD. It is 00027-90001 printed Feb. 1976. The file has 234 "PDF" pages. The last page of the index is printed with page number 216. The last page with a printed page number is the end of the list of service locations, printed with page number 227. (The last entry is "SOCIALIST COUNTRIES, CONTACT" the Vienna office. It was always exciting to know that HP had customers behind the "iron curtain".)

There is also a "27ADD" file which has 8 pages, P/N 00027-90022, which is an addendum to P/N 00027-90001 printed Jan. 1976 (printing date of the manual to be corrected, not of the addendum). The last reference in the addendum is to "Page 208, Depreciation". The complete Feb. 1976 manual has a section on Depreciation on page 208, which happens to be "PDF" page 208, this one came back in synchrony. The cover is "PDF" page 1, page 14 is "PDF" page 15.
