Hm. Expected price $99.99. I wonder when samson will be dropping their preorder price ;-) ▼

Note the price discrepancy on the 12C. It is listed for $99.99 but the announcement says:

They don't say anything about Europe! Near the price it says: "(2) Estimated U.S. street prices. Actual prices may vary." Will this be available in Europe for a reasonable price? ▼

No idea, but I'm sure some here in the US would be able to "help out" if needed.

Quote:No. Calculate (US price plus shipping) * 1.2 (E-USt.), no customs. That's common practice, but you can file an objection to get the E-USt. back for the shipping costs within Europe. It will be granted. BTW, no tax exempt from SC. That will be for sure cheaper than buying from a european reseller. ▼

Quote: You are lucky! Down here: (US price plus shipping) * [1 + 0.60 (customs taxes) + 0.068 (tax on expenses abroad)] So far I've been charged $224.98 + $15.29. I will be charged another $135 when the calculators arrive. The final price will be $187.63 per item.

It will take a little more than in the US, but they are guaranteed to come. The new calculators are presented to distributors on Sept.22. Prices have not been communicated yet to the network, and there are some points to decide yet. The models will be in English only, but they will be a different part number than the US ones (#B1S instead of #ABA). I will not be able to tell the differences -if any- until I receive the samples. There has been a change in the head of the EAME calculator business - this does not speed up the process. but, eventually, you will have a "local" calculator supported by the local network.

Quote:Speaking about HP and saying "Europe" and "Reasonable price" in the same sentence, I love your humour.

The price from HP's store is only $84.99 at the moment. Of course you can't place an order yet.

HP's web site list both the 12c 30th Edition and 15cLE for $84.99. Both show to be out of stock.

Thank you HP!

What a wonderful gesture toward this community! Despite the merits or demerits of the 15C as a calculator, there can be no doubt that its return has been a dream close to many hearts around here. Thank you to the wonderful folks in the calculator group for this triumph. You have my fondest wishes that this is not a coda, but an intro to a whole new movement!
Gratefully, ▼

Here's an email I just got from Samson Cables on my original order for two HP-15C calculators: "Pricing has been finalized on the 15C and 12C 30th Anniversary models at $99.99 so I have reduced the pricing on your order which was higher. The 12C 30th Anniversary is shipping now. We expect to receive the 15C very soon. You may check your order status at anytime online." Original price for a 15C was $109.99. I wonder if they will arrive in time for HHC2011? Gerry ▼

So SC will sell it to you for MSRP + shipping and HP will sell it to you with a 15% discount and free shipping. Unless you're afraid HP will run out before you can get your order placed, why buy from SC ? If you lived outside the USA I might understand, but this makes no sense to me. ▼

Good question. I originally placed the order back in July as I didn't know about availability back then. I think my best course of action would be to try and order from HP and if successful, then cancel my Samson order. Thanks, Gerry

Let me try and help you understand. The last time i saw one and held it in my hands was 1982. I let some well meaning people talk me out of the purchase. Now that i am older and have a desire to own a 15c i am taking NO chances on being able to acquire one this time around. I have placed orders with whoever i could and if HP puts an "add to cart" button i will order from them also. Almost 30 years waiting who cares about a measley 12 to 15 dollars shipping. :)

Hi,
Quote: Sorry, but the original price was $135. Perhaps you got an early one at a discount? Jake

Quote: You guys have no idea how much fun Tim and I have had reading all the comments and theories here over the last few months, and now I can stop sitting on my hands. It's been a fun product development, with a few surprises tossed in here and there that I can't talk about. We hope you enjoy this new version and that everyone that wants one, gets one. Or the dozen that you signed up for on the 15c website. ;) |
