It seems that you are right about the non-disappearing grid, as others have mentioned, too. Apparently, these last ones are the worst. You win some, you lose some!

As you said, "I'm sure that you can find a good home for yours if it bothers you too much..... " I haven't quite decided that yet, but my '41 and '11C remain my favorites for everyday use. The feel (keyboard tactile feedback) and display of the '41 is the best of all that I've used, and the size of the 11C allows for convenient travel in my briefcase. (and it means my astronomy and physics lab students won't want to borrow it - they barely understand their TI 8x's.)
