Unreleased models

Post: #2

Hi

I have just re-read the "Where are they now" article by Dennis York in HPCC Datafile V27N6 to look for information regarding unreleased HP's for my website. The article is very exciting especially the part where Dennis describes (unfortunatly very brief) the unreleased projects "Eagle" and "Eagle Beagle".

Also I remember reading (maybe in Wlodek Mier-Jedrzejowicz's "Guide to HP Handheld Calculators and Computers") about HP-calc family names like "Earthquake" and "Pogo".

Is there anyone here who have any information or pictures about the these prototypes?

Thank you in advance!

...and there are others which I have only heard about, such as "Firefly" - the cancelled "HP02" LCD watch; and "Zipper", which I believe was to be a vertical-format machine with some sort of alternate mass storage built in (beyond the 41, if I remember correctly). Eric Vogel once mentioned a cancelled clamshell financial/PIM machine from the timeframe prior to the 18C called "Singha" and Richard Nelson has the top case from a cancelled Classic-series machine whose focus was statistical functions. Also, check out HPCC's Datafile issue Volume 21 Number 2 with a cover drawing (and story inside) of the cancelled HP-12R Pioneer-series real-estate machine.
