Here we go again. The "We (collectors, etc) have a right and deserve to own all the HP 42S calculators that are made, and if we cannot, we don't want others to have them" mentality.
If a person knows that 42S calculators are popular and gets hold of a few, they surely would know about the HP Museum. So why don't they appear in the Museum's classified section, since there is a captive audience who would pay top dollar with the added advantage of no selling fees ?
I am guessing that it is not worth the hassle dealing with some of the people who read the HP Museum classified ads.
