Finally, the HP30b arrived in Japan in retail shops. I got one today in Tokyo's Akihabara electronic district for Yen 5900, which is equivalent to approx. 70$ or 52Euro. It is packed in the typical blister with four short manuals in English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean, however, only one key layout sticker is inluded. The content of the quick start manual (all dated July 2009) is so basic, they better had not distributed.
The calculator does not fit well into my hand with its sharp upper rims, may be, I am spoiled from the daily use of my Pioneers. They keyboard is worlds apart from the former HP quality - the "4" key does not deliver a click, but an entry, the "5" returns a click, but only an entry if you press very hard ..... I return this calculator tomorrow.
