It's not the shape it will be the cost. Hugely expensive, so that no one buys one and then becomes a rare collectors piece in 20 years.

That's what I was thinking. And the shape is vaguely reminiscent of the HP-01.

It says that it runs "applications" but there no examples of them yet. Perhaps one of the apps will be a calculator.

With what user interface?

I've got a scientific calculator app on my Timex USB datalink watch, but using the crown to spin up numbers one-by-one isn't exactly efficient.

I have no idea but the face is at least partially touch sensitive (they have a demo of that) and they claim to have to calendar and event functionality built-in so there must be at least a graphical way to display numbers and enter them.
