A great HP Watch (15C) replacement?

#15

Has anybody here seen this amazing watch?

Best wishes!

Of course. David L. Jones (DaveJ), the inventor, is a regular here and video blogs about electronics here. Look through his earlier episodes for one about this watch. Then there's the great group of people that program this, I think that this is the best place to see what they're up to.

E aĆ, Artur; tudo certo? (Hi; is everything OK?)

The uWatch has been introduced here for about one-two years ago. It is really something to have... I'm waiting for the chance to have one. What about finding a group of 'us here' and try to buy some pieces of it? My name in the list, please!

Cheers.

Very best wishes!

Hummmmm .... maybe a replacement for HP15C or HP01 is a bit high evaluation, but they are in an excellent way ...

No offense to anyone but it's ugly as hell...

Hey, if you want a Rolex, buy one. This one is for the geeks, and its geek-factor is superb.

Like I said, no offense meant to anyone. I'll hold out for a HP-01 thank you!

I'm not geeky enough to actually wear that watch, but it was amazing what Dave did with that project. I asked him once about the programming language of the watch, and he said it was basically a macro recorder, to let you record and then play back keystrokes, but no abilities to test or branch like a real programming language.

The HP-01 is interesting, but I can't see wearing that either. I do have one of the original Pulsar digital watches I got around 1972 or 73, and it still works after all these years. You adjust the hour and minutes with a little magnet concealed in the clasp. Cool.

And the HP-01 IS NOT UGLY!!!!!!

And neither is my Synchronar:

I like those big watch designs of the early seventies. I even bought a russian watch from that era this past summer. I wear it daily and I got many compliments (mostly from ladies!):

My original firmware was only fairly rudimentary, it's the community that took it forward. See what the latest firmware can do in this excellent USER MANUAL

The worlds only chess playing watch perhaps?

Dave.

Sure it is, but it was built using off the shelf parts and no case!

The new one will be much nicer, if I ever get it finished...

Dave.

Hi Dave,

Great web site. I watched your video blogs on capacitors. I am a reliability engineer, so I really appreciate your comments. And entertaining too.

And Katie, thanks for the link (message #2).
