HP48G ROM transplanted in a HP38G

#2

I have an application that requires HP48G functionality in a HP38G package.

My preliminary investigation shows that a simple ROM replacement in the HP38G should work.

Of course there will be keyboard issues as the HP38G package is missing a couple of keys (and this can be obviated with menu commands).

Has anyone tried this? I'm curious of any hardware issues.

Is there an existing HP38G schematic out there? I am aware of the fine HP48G schematic).

Thanks and Regards,

TomC
