I have a "red dot" but it has not the early major ROM bug... It's Nr. 1143A03541, so I'm not sure, if it's a fake or not.. Can you send me different pictures of the "red dot"-area, as cloth as possible.. I just know the museum-picture..
Thanks

My understanding is that HP upgraded 35's with the ROM bug for anyone who asked. My type 2 has the bug, I guess the original owner didn't ask!

I finally checked my red-dot 35 (s/n 1143A032xx) for the bugs and found the results in the last column.
The third and fifth results are the most disconcerting ones... Are these known results from an early rom? Massimo ▼

So you have an earlier s/n than mine but no red dot? I will check my results this evening, maybe I simply overlooked a 0 somewhere. :)
Thanks,

a) i checked and my 35 is dirty but not so dirty as to hide the coveted red dot. dam. i love it anyway. b) i'm not completly right; i thought that maybe i had another edition of bug. fortunatly for us these things only seem to crop up in angles much smaller than we ususlly use, or we can use the complimentary function. but anyway - as r. crumb used to say: what's it all mean, mr. natural? c)what part of the old country are you in? my grandfather came from the po valley up towards france. close enough in fact so that there are french people who say their name like mine but spell it wrong. ▼

You could try a little Clearasil... who knows? ;) b) i'm not completly right; i thought that maybe i had another edition of bug. fortunatly for us these things only seem to crop up in angles much smaller than we ususlly use, or we can use the complimentary function. but anyway - as r. crumb used to say: what's it all mean, mr. natural?
Yes, I think I would never use those particular angles but they may pop up from intermediate results.

I'm in Milan, near the top, Po valley. Massimò ▼

massimo; re: c) they did worse than add an accent to my name. they took belillo and made belilEAU. can you believe it? and besides that, they make bad wine too.

I asked the seller of my red dot, and he said that he was the firt owner, who paid $395 in 1972. He rememders that there was a recall for the ROM bug, and he thinks, he toke the chance...sniff..
