HP 95LX prototype PCB

Well, that 95LX was only semi complete and didn't power up - so I disassembled it. Look what I found:











No wonder it didn't boot: this one has 3 x 256kB RAM installed - but no ROM. It probably used a Flash card to boot.


Both ICs are prototypes: marked as "SAMPLE" and "ES" (aka "Engineering Sample").


(it came in a standard enclosure with standard SN, no hint of a prototype...)
