[pre]The sad new is: I'm selling my calc :-(
That's good news to you, bad sad to me.
I want in exchange Intel 9650 Quodcore CPU.
PayPal/money/check is not as easy.
I need a new PC, but the CPU is still the missing peace.
So my most valuable calc have to go...
I also have in posession:
HP-48SX
HP-17BII
HP-71B (AC working, battery compartment corrupted)
and
some 41-series modules:
MATH I, MATH/STAT, FINANCIAL I, SECURITIES X, CLINICAL LAB X, SURVEYING I, STRESS
STRESS could be a deal sweatener to the 1st induvidual to close the deal. It will certainly release a lot of stress (but give the pain of giving up the 16C)
Those who contacted me a month ago have received a personal letter.
All the broken 41CX are no longer in my possession
AND
I'm now ready to depart my beloved 16C
I finally solved the money issue:
just send me an Intel 9650 Quad CPU (tray, not boxed)
in a padded envelope and I'll send the 16C the same way.
Let's talk business...no where did I but my financial calc?

I understand your intentions. May I observe an extreme weakness of
'bartering-at-a-distance': There is no good channel for recourse if one party is not satisfied with the deal. (too many parties involved by introducing a second supplier, and second carrier in the mix who are neither a direct consumer nor a source of funding). Caution both parties in that regard for your trade.

That's a disaster waiting to happen. Over the years, I have received many padded envelopes that once contained a calculator... yes, the bag opened along the way and the calculator fell out. So, I never leave the Post Office without checking all parcels so that they can be stamped "Received Without Contents" and returned to the shipper.
Boxes and tape are very cheap! Vintage HP's are not.

$540 for a 16C? Even Coburlin does not go that far.

IMHO there remains a considerable difference between "cheaper" and "reasonable for a 16C" ...

Sell the three items on EBay and hope you get enough from the sales to buy the thing you want.

Caveat Emptor
FWIW, I think this VPN guy is a waste of time. He says:
Quote:
Let's talk business.
He keeps emailing me regarding these things he's selling, but won't be upfront about what he has or what he expects to get for it. You can see from his thread that he's just idiot fishing on the forum... While my email replies have included requests for more information, he has refused to send a written description of what he's actually selling, and only a few hard-won blurry photos. I won't be buying or trading ANYTHING with this fellow, I smell a con or worse- an idiot (self-proclaimed, I might add).

I'll try to get a real digital camera from my friends, not this cameraphone. My IQ is above average, but I feel as an idiot ever giving up on my calcs. "con" as trying to husttle? I've been using HP-calcs since HP-21. Use Google Groups you may find out that from 1999 when HP/ACO released the 49G I have been active.
ALSO I have offered to send the calculators BEFORE I get anything in return.

Having read this forum and Hp newsgroups for some years, I certainly would not consider VP-N as an idiot, even "self-proclaimed".
Before emitting such statements on other people, you might want to base your opinion on something else/more than english fluency or mere ability to close a deal with you.

Well said. I do not consider him so...neither on his bartering ability nor on his language. He has sufficient English language.. more than most Americans I have met. And I am not basing on closing a deal with me at all.. I am concerned that the seller has repeatedly offered these calculators for sale, while ignoring requests for more detailed information. That is my observation.. nothing else.

I just loaned a digicamera from a friend, not all phots are sharp, there was no optical image stabilizer. To those two who were still "on" and patient enough, I have posted the photos personally.
One of them was willing to send me the CPU, which I request AFTER the calcs have been examined - as I have suggested to EVERYONE who e-mailed me - included those who suspect I'm from Nigeria. So any "scam" possibility is the other way around...
Where do people suggest I upload all the photos for everyone to see?
Just you can enjoy my collection as long as it lasts (the photos will stay..."forever")

Is it also available in Finnish? The User Interface? Legal texts? I already have this much trouble and suspicion on a friendly and closed community like this and you're gonna throw me to the wolfs?
-BTW: did the Flickr work?

Flikr worked.
Finish ebay? Don't know.
But English is available! ;-)
I'm based in Europe and bought from Western Europe, UK, USA and even Asia via ebay with no problems. The beauty of it is that you can judge your partner by his/her feedback, which is not available here.
Also international payment via paypal is very convenient.

Thanks, Reth, that was a close race. But obviously the seller won't sell for money at all - seems to live in a prepecuniary, but postbovine economy at a hidden site in the snowy forests of Suomi, or has a combined dollar-euro-allergy? ;)
Edited to correct an expression.
