mystery X Funtion module for HP-41

Hello All

I recently acquired an X Function module with a 41CV. Nothing unusual there but instead of being labeled "HP 82180A" it's labeled "HP 5061-5256". It's also labeled "Made in Singapore" as are the 82108A's I've seen. The modules appears to have the same functions and both have 124 "bytes" of memory available. I have been unable to find any information regarding the 5061-5256 module and would like to hear from anyone who knows anything about it.

Many thanks for pointing that out. It does answer my question. It seems I'm not the first person to be puzzled by this unusually marked module.

82180A is the part number of the complete retail package.

5061-xxxx is the part number of just the module itself, with the suffix depending on the ROM version or other manufacturing changes.

Some modules are stamped with one, some with the other. There isn't any functional difference other than the ROM version.
