Very good idea. But coming to think of it: that would only save me 1 keystroke on the very few occasions I would enter improper fractions...not really worth the time. I might easier grab a Casio with a dedicated fraction key...

If you allow even Casios, you may also grab a 32SII, 33S, or 35S and key in 1.3.4

The drawback of the 35S fraction entering is the necessity to press the fraction key twice even for a proper fraction: .3.4
In that respect I like my Casio fx-3500p better ;-)

True there is ALG & RPN. But it depends on the level of data entry. In this case it may not apply, due to the simplicity of the expression. But in certain cases you may want to write an equation for the variables used. A LIB is first formed and then the equation in the LIB. In that case it is more work, but it simply asks for X (1) Y(3/4) = Z is the unknown. And therefore the solver may find the answer. In a more complex equation it is recommended to use the solver. We have Free PDFs which will outline to a limit some of this procedure.

In some HP Calculators, there is a limit to a number of stacks e.g. 33s. But in the 50G as you mentioned there is not. IN RPN simply enter 1 enter 3 enter 4 enter /+ hit NUM Solve to get the answer. Programming solution is more difficult but better in the long run, depending on the expression.

No just saying depending if its real or imaginary number you simply put 1 enter 3 enter 4 enter /+ hit NUM & Solve you get 1.75. By using the stack a third method.
