Recently my wife gave me a gift (just because). It was wrapped in paper covered with many equations. Most of them from first year calculus and physics with a finance equation thrown in.

But, one of the equations I've seen and perhaps even used, but after a month of staring at it I have been unable to remember where I'd seen it or why I used it.

Thanks.
