I'm thinking of switching to a wireless internet such as Sprint and Verizon Wireless provide but they limit to 5 GB usage. I have no idea how much that is. How can I estimate my usage?

If you only do general web surfing, email, and the usual stuff then 5GB/month is plenty. If however you download movies (via Torrent or something else) or anything else large like say YouTube then 5GB will most likely not be enough.
E.g. one movie download is usually 700MB.

You should be able to find out your current usage via logging into your current service providers website.
