Preserving / repairing classics boxes

#2

How to do it?

I noticed the joints of the two halfes and the latch of the classics boxes form cracks over the time. Currently, I just leave my box open to minimize stress on these joints but I wonder if there are other methods to preserve them.

On a similar point, can a plastic doc repair these parts somehow?

Thanks!
